Our Mission

In partnership with our community to assist and strengthen members, families and units of the New Hampshire National Guard.

We understand the unique challenges faced by New Hampshire National Guard members. They are our neighbors and co-workers who are called to serve in times of need. Building strong unit cohesion and esprit de corps is essential to mission success, but it can be difficult given the nature of Guard service. Unlike active duty, members and their families are not located near military installations where support networks naturally form.

We strengthen morale, connection, and cohesiveness across the New Hampshire National Guard community by funding programs and initiatives not supported through traditional government resources.

How It All Started...

It all began with a bus….. In 2009 a unit from the NH Army National Guard was in training over the Christmas holidays preparing to deploy to the Middle East. Funding was not available to bring them home to enjoy the holidays with family prior to deploying. Community members and organizations came together to raise the necessary funds to charter a bus to bring them home and return them back to their training site prior to their deployment. Events like this help to boost morale of the unit, the military member and their family. This community heart felt response highlighted the need for an organization to officially raise and monitor funds when government funds are unavailable; as a result the NH Military Assistance Foundation (MAF) was created.
